Vijay Jojo Chokal-Ingam, an Indian-American who received a Bachelor’s Degree in statistics from the University of Chicago, faked being black in order to get into medical school. In an interview with CNN, “Jojo” said he knew he had no shot being an Asian applicant with only a 3.1 GPA, so he changed his physical appearance and joined the Organization of Black Students – all so he could apply as an African American instead. He claims that he received acceptances and wait-lists from universities that never would have even looked at him if he “weren’t black.”
Jojo went on to dispute the claim that Harvard’s incoming class has more minorities than not, citing the “Pocahontas factor” (a reference to Elizabeth Warren’s lie about her Native-American heritage). “There are a large number of people who are whiter than winter in Alaska” that skew the statistic.
Chokal-Ingam also said that he believes “Trump will end affirmative action like Lincoln did slavery” by appointing conservative anti-affirmative action justices as well as directing the justice department to fight the unfair policy. He added that President Trump can do this by cutting off federal funding to colleges that participate in, what he calls, “legalized racism.”
